# Currencies

`GET` _(Table: Currency)_

```
eOne/core/v1.0/currencies
```

"Read-only currency master. Every amount this API publishes is in its own record's transaction currency, and a blank `currencyCode` means the company local currency, so a store that reports across more than one currency needs this list and the rates beside it."

## What it is for

SmartConnect maps land `currencyCode` on customers, vendors, documents, ledger entries and journal lines. That code is a key, not a description: it tells you nothing about how many decimals the currency uses, what its ISO code is, or which accounts its exchange gains post to.

This endpoint answers that, and it is small enough to refresh on every run.

## Pair it with rates

A currency on its own does not convert anything. [`currencyExchangeRates`](https://eonesolutions.github.io/eone-bc-integration/core-currencyExchangeRates.md) carries the rate history, and the two together are what let a report state one consolidated total.

## Blank is a real value

A blank `currencyCode` anywhere in this API means the transaction was in the company local currency. There is no row here for it, because Business Central does not store LCY as a currency. Read the company's own local currency from General Ledger Setup, not from this feed.

## Currencies fields

_API column → BC field._
