# Inventory Posting Groups

## Why you need it

The posting group code appears on masters and documents throughout this API. What it does not tell you is which G/L accounts it directs postings to, and that mapping is the whole point of a posting group.

With this feed a report can tie a subledger balance back to the control account it posts to, and show the chart-of-accounts consequence of a master-data choice.

## Where the accounts live

Unlike the customer and vendor groups, an inventory posting group does not carry its accounts on the group itself. Business Central holds them on Inventory Posting Setup, one row per (location, posting group) pair, which this endpoint does not publish. What you get here is the group list, which is what [`valueEntries`](https://eonesolutions.github.io/eone-bc-integration/core-valueEntries.md) groups by.

A handful of rows at most customers. Refresh it on every run.

| `id` | SystemId | The Business Central record id. Unique on its own, and the key this feed is written against. _(ro)_ |
| `bcCompanyId` | bcCompanyId | The company this row belongs to - the same GUID that appears in the request URL. Present on every endpoint so a store pooling several companies can keep them apart without relying on which URL it called. _(ro)_ |

| `code` | Code | The posting group code. This is the natural key, and the value published on the records that carry this posting group. _(ro)_ |
