# Licensing & activation

The eOne integration requires an active eOne (SmartConnect) subscription. Every API endpoint is blocked until a valid license token has been entered and verified. One token covers every company in the environment.

## Find your license token

Your license token is your SmartConnect **Customer Id**. Sign in at [login.smartconnect.com](https://login.smartconnect.com/), open **Account → Customer Id**, and copy the value.

## Enter it in Business Central

1. Search **Tell Me** for **eOne Integration Setup** and open it.
2. On the **Licensing** fast tab, paste your Customer Id into **License Token**.

On a successful check the page fills in the read-only **Account Name** and **Subscription End Date**, so you can confirm the token resolved to the right account.

## One token licenses the whole environment

The subscription belongs to your eOne account, not to a company, so the token is stored once for the Business Central environment. Enter it in any company and every other company is licensed by it, including companies you create later. The **Licensing** fast tab shows the same token, account name, and expiry whichever company you open it from, and changing it there changes it everywhere.

Everything else on **eOne Integration Setup** is per company. To roll those choices out, see [Endpoint setup](https://eonesolutions.github.io/eone-bc-integration/endpoint-setup.md).

## While unlicensed

If no token is entered, or the subscription is inactive or expired, every API call returns an error and the endpoints stay blocked. Users on the Business Manager and Accountant Role Centers also see a notification prompting them to open the setup page.

The **Archive Document** and **Cancel Document** actions on sales and purchase documents keep working without a license. They follow the per-type switches under **Document Archive & Cancel** on the setup page. See [Archiving & cancelling](https://eonesolutions.github.io/eone-bc-integration/archive.md).

> **Caution:** Removing the token revokes API access immediately and the next call is rejected. A verified subscription keeps working through short outages of the licensing service (a grace period), so a transient network problem does not break a live integration.
